Terrain & Site Data
Drone Mapping and Terrain Data
A dated, high-resolution overhead map of your land, plus elevation, slope, and drainage, delivered in formats that work with the tools you already use. For ranches, development sites, conservation land, and golf courses.
FAA Part 107 certified aerial capture
A Current Map of the Ground
We fly the property and stitch hundreds of drone photos into an orthomosaic: one map-corrected overhead image, dated the day we fly. From the same flight we build an elevation model of the surface, and from that we produce contours, slope, and drainage maps. We also map what's on the ground: roads, fences, water, and structures.
Know the Ground Before You Decide
Current conditions
The satellite imagery in most map apps can be years old. A drone map shows the property as it is now, with the date on it.
Detail you can use
High enough resolution to pick out fence lines, two-tracks, stock tanks, and outbuildings.
Terrain in context
Slope and drainage over the actual ground help you think through homesites, pond sites, roads, and where water goes after a storm.
Fits your workflow
Map files in standard formats that work with common mapping and GIS tools, plus high-resolution images for print and the web.
What's Included
For visualization and planning only. Our maps, models, and terrain data are not a boundary survey or a legal survey, and they don’t establish property lines, acreage, or easements. Any boundaries we show are approximate, drawn from public parcel data or information you provide. Slope, drainage, and site-suitability findings are planning aids, not engineering or soils studies. For certified survey work, we’ll refer you to a licensed land surveyor.
Dated orthomosaic of the area in scope
Elevation model and contours
Slope and drainage maps
Feature inventory: roads, fences, water (stock tanks, ponds, creeks), and structures, delivered as a map layer and a summary list
Site suitability notes: candidate homesite and pond-site areas based on slope, drainage, and access, as a starting point for your builder or engineer
Optional: an aerial 3D model of the headquarters and structures, and 3D tours of the main home or clubhouse
How It Works
- 1
Scope
We look at the property on a map together, agree on the area and the deliverables, and check airspace.
- 2
Capture
We fly with the landowner's permission and coordinate gates, livestock, and access with whoever manages the property. Timing depends on weather and acreage.
- 3
Process
We build the orthomosaic, elevation model, and analysis layers, and map the features.
- 4
Deliver
You get files, overlays, and a walkthrough call to go over what we found.
Questions About Terrain Data
Is this a survey?
No. It's for visualization and planning, and boundaries are shown as approximate. For boundary or legal survey work, use a licensed land surveyor; we're happy to refer you.
What files do we get?
A high-resolution orthomosaic and map files in standard formats that work with common mapping and GIS tools, plus images for print and the web. Tell us what software you use and we'll match it.
Why not just use free elevation data?
Public data is a good starting point and we use it. A drone capture adds current imagery and finer detail where it matters.
What about trees?
Drone photogrammetry maps the surface it can see. Under dense tree cover, the ground itself is harder to measure, and we'll tell you where that limits the results.
How much land can you cover?
There's no specific limit on how much land we can cover.
